Shalom Income Activities

As emphasized by Action Against Hunger; Income generating activities are a key concept to sustainability especially food security. Most of our sponsored children are chosen from poor families (using poverty indicators to select beneficiary families) staying with foster/single parents, care takers and extended family members. To ensure our children are supported and cared for at home, we embarked on improving family incomes through supporting and promoting small family businesses like tailoring, retail shops, craft making, entrepreneur projects that are environmentally friendly and of comparative advantage such as organic farming, poultry, piggery, rearing among others by using donations and grants which are inform of seed capital and revolving funds with no interest.

Because most women are unemployed and do most of the supportive role in the families, our focus is towards women empowerment.
